Mission Statement

The mission of Rhode Island Pain Society (RIPS) is to be a collaborative resource for advocacy, education, and research in the evaluation and management of acute and chronic pain in the state of Rhode Island and surrounding region.

The Society exists for, and is dedicated to, advancing the quality of Pain Medicine for patients by: |
• ensuring a distinctive identity in the discipline of Pain Medicine. |
• positioning the Society to be the recognized voice of Pain Medicine for the benefit of its members and their patients in the State of Rhode Island. |
• improving the quality of scientific knowledge and pursuing high standards of excellence in patient care, clinical practice, and related sciences among professionals in the field of Pain Medicine. |
• maintaining an educational organization dedicated to the exchange of ideas and dissemination of scientific facts concerning the field of Pain Medicine. |
• maintaining the highest ethical standards for the organization and maintaining full communication and interaction with other recognized bodies and specialty associations. |
